Hi, I'm Jo

mother,

parent coach,

introvert,

based in the

Scottish Highlands.

I am trained and certified by the Jai Institute for Parenting.

I offer courses, workshops and coaching to help parents develop a deeper connection with their children. I help you step back, press pause and focus on what really matters.

My approach

I prioritise emotional regulation rather than compliance. Because a child who learns how to regulate their emotions grows up feeling secure, confident, at ease in themselves, knows how to bounce back from challenges, develops healthy coping skills and feels good about themselve on the inside. That is what we all want for our children.

But they won't learn emotional regulation from rules, rewards or punishments. It takes a different approach to the way most of us were raised and it may require a degree of re-wiring within ourselves. If you are open to that then my short course on

How to help your child manage their BIG feelings is a good place to start.

Coaching for introvert parents

Now, I live at the pointy end of the introvert spectrum and I know that parenting as an introvert in an extrovert world can take its toll.

The noise, the mess, the social expectations! I really had to figure out how to balance my needs as an introvert with the realities of parenting and you can read more about that on my blog.

So that is why I specialise in coaching other introvert parents because I get it, I understand the challenges and I also know that when you lean into your introvert instincts, it can help your child thrive.

"My coaching sessions with Jo were among the very few times in my life that I felt truly heard and supported. Jo was attuned to me, helped me put words to my thoughts and feelings and gave me another perspective on my challenges, without a hint of judgment. Coaching has helped me improve my self-confidence, my relationship with my feelings, needs and voice, my connection with my son and our family life overall! "

My Values

Compassion - perfect parenting is not the goal. What is? Feeling seen, safe and supported so that you can show up with compassion for yourself and your kids.

Curiosity - getting a clearer understanding about what triggers you and your children can reduce overwhelm, power struggles and exhaustion.

Connection - you’ll create a deeper, authentic relationship with your kids based on trust, connection and collaboration.

A wee bit about my personal parenthood journey (just for fun)

Despite being an introvert who loves to stay at home, I spent the first 6 years of motherhood quite out there. I gave birth in Thailand after finding myself in an unexpected situation. It’s a long story but it worked out really well (final trimester foot massages - yes please!) Then we moved to Nepal and spent the next 6 years living there which was an amazing experience.

Since then we have settled in the Scottish Highlands which I love deeply.
