Parenting as an introvert in an extrovert world

can take its toll.

Does this resonate? You try your best to be a good parent but the reality is you often feel frazzled and overwhelmed. You are functioning, your kids are healthy, fed and clean (mostly) but you are not really present. You are distracted by the mental load and feel constantly on edge. Balancing everyone’s needs feels like an impossible task!

You wish you could feel more light-hearted and fun. You long to slow down and enjoy your children rather than feeling so exhausted all the time.

Let’s get a few things straight. This is not your fault. There is nothing wrong with you.

There are science-based reasons to explain why introverts get overstimulated more easily, need more time to process things and why multi-tasking is a massive drain - it's a fact! If your introvert needs go unmet, your nervous system will get stuck in survival mode which takes up a lot of energy - hence the exhaustion.

Here at Pare, we reject the norm and do parenting a bit differently, embracing our authentic, introvert selves with kindness, courage and compassion.

Hi, I’m Jo.

Mother, parent coach and an introvert.

I love being a parent to my gorgeous son but it has been a very steep learning curve. Becoming a parent really highlighted my introvert nature and there are lots of things that I wish I had known at the start to find more ease. You can read more about me here.

What does it mean to parent differently.

We pare it down to what really matters. What you want for yourself and your children and what is getting in the way. Connecting to this solid core simplifies things, helping you feel more grounded and energised no matter what the day holds.

In fact, introvert parents

are amazing parents.

When you lean into your introvert instincts, children can thrive. Slowing down, listening, tuning in to subtle shifts and connecting one-on-one makes kids feel special. They feel seen and heard.

Saying no to the busy expectations of the extrovert world and yes to some quiet downtime at home allows children to decompress and process all the new experiences they face every day.

If you long to slow down and savour some simple pleasures with your children, but right now you are just trying to keep the ship afloat, I can help.
